Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, came to Washington today to make a high-stakes speech at a critical point in the war between Israel and Iranian proxies Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis (among others).
Netanyahu is the first world leader to address a joint meeting of Congress four times, but never has the atmosphere felt more partisan toward Israel in the United States.
Netanyahu, sometimes referred to as Bibi in Israel, is a controversial figure internationally, in America, and also in Israel. Like most politicians, he has strengths and weaknesses; he’s not a perfect man. I do believe Bibi is the right leader for Israel right now because he has the resolve to withstand international pressure to ensure a bright future for Israel.
I don’t live there right now, so I don’t get a vote, and ultimately the people of Israel will decide if he has a political future there after this war. I think
summed up my feelings pretty well in this article, so I’d let you read that if you want to learn more about him and the politic surrounding him in Israel.Love him or hate him, he came to Washington and gave a passionate speech explaining why Israel is at war, the progress that’s been made, why Israeli interests are intertwined with America’s, and his vision for the future in the Middle East.
Please take thirty minutes to watch it below.
If you’ve been following events in Israel, you probably won’t learn much watching it. What’s more important than the speech is what’s not said.
If you really care about Palestinians, as I do, then you should want them to free from Hamas that holds them physically hostage and indoctrinates them with the hateful mind virus of antisemitism, which prevents them from flourishing.
Both Israelis and Palestinians have a right to live in peace, with security and dignity. That can never happen with Hamas in power and with Iran funding terror proxies all over the globe. They must be defeated and Iran must be confronted for everyone in the region to prosper.
Make no mistake, Yasser Arafat meant it when he said, “Peace for us means the destruction of Israel. We are preparing for an all-out war, a war which will last for generations.”
We are ready to fight that war, and we are fighting it now. Israel will win and by doing so she will ensure a brighter future for the next generation of both Israelis and Palestinians. In order to win quickly, and minimize human suffering, Israel must work closely with her strongest ally, America. For Kamala to skip this historic speech while a great ally stares down an existential threat, besieged on all sides by Iranian proxies and Iran itself, should tell you everything you know about how willing she is to work with Israel if elected president.
I will leave you with this quote from John F. Kennedy that seems apt at this moment. He said, “Israel was not created in order to disappear - Israel will endure and flourish. It is the child of hope and the home of the brave. It can neither be broken by adversity nor demoralized by success. It carries the shield of democracy and it honors the sword of freedom.”
Kadima!

Israel a right to defend itself BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT........
pretty much sums up the democrats on Israel in 2024.
Harris addressed the groups who have been calling for a cease-fire and peace in the Middle East, and pushed for a two-state solution saying "I see you, I hear you."
More appeasement of terror supporters from Kamala.
Do we need to wonder how she'll govern?
I grew up in the shadow of 9/11. I remember how America fought the war. I don't think America has any right to criticize Israel who is facing a much greater existential threat against many more enemies on their borders.
Spare us your self righteous lectures. I can barely take anymore of the hypocrisy.
Is it any coincidence the two soldiers weren't white colonizers from Europe? Well played Bibi.
