Hi Jason, well written article, great material. Obviously I don't know much about the US, but I can say that in IT and the EU in general the situation is similar but not the same.
These kids, who should be the smartest, are completely lost and I think it is a natural consequence of bad parenting.
Besides bad education, there can be many reasons. Society is falling apart and role models have changed. For example, our generation used to have parants and family members as successful role models, now these stupid kids have tiktoker influencers as such! They would say everything and deny it right away for just a few likes, for just a little bit of public attention. Moral values have also disappeared....
Peer pressure is also a factor. These students feel lonely, and loneliness pushes them to conform to the crowd. I think big events with major media coverage make them feel part of something. If really one day these fools will lead our governments, businesses and society in general, well we are screwed.
So are the stereotypes and prejudices. I have been lucky enough to live in several countries, but the stereotypes are always the same. People are also biased.
I can't understand how these assholes are able to enroll in major universities... and they think we control the media, we rule the world.... It's all so messed up my friend.
Hey Emanuele, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this! I think you're correctly diagnosing a lot of the problems here. I saw someone I respect post something funny the other day. If Jews are controlling everything in the world, especially the media, wouldn't we make it suck less for us?
I think we are witnessing the effects of the “long march through the institutions” promised by communism, even/especially from “western” communists and “woke” leftists. Change the young people’s education/narrative and then turn them on their elders and society. Because communism also hates Jews so much, antisemitism is no surprise as a part of the oppressor/oppressed reductive ideology.
In terms of your two theories here as to why some young Jews are so anti-Israel, I think both are likely correct together.
Something I also see as a common thread in all these behaviors from the campus protest videos to Jan 6th is that people seem willing to adopt a herd mentality and get swept into extreme positions when it enables them to feel indignant and a sense of camaraderie.
There are many variables at play here, but these psyops that China and others run to weaken our social fabric plays on the social disconnect of the day. This disconnect is worse for Gen Z, who are also mass adopters of tech like TikTok and Instagram that reinforce simplistic and tribal thinking. :-/
Social media is not helping for sure. I am noticeably happier when I don’t engage with it, but I also feel like we can’t opt out right not and cede the digital realm to our enemies.
I’m hoping this new youngest generation, I think they’re called alphas because we ran out letters, sees how messed up Gen Z is and decides to touch more grass to avoid their fate.
Anyone from Gen Z want to defend them or tell us what we’re missing?
